Separation of cuttings from drilling muds is an integral part of traffic and utility tunnelling systems. A high tunnelling rate cannot be achieved without efficient solids separation.

10 inch (250mm), 5 inch (125mm) 4 inch (100mm) and 3 inch (75mm) Hydrocyclones are widely used to remove cuttings from drilling mud. This allows the operator to optimise the tunnelling or drilling operation by controlling the properties of the cleaned recycled mud and thus reducing operating costs.
